Stella Faye Maynard

STELLA FAYE ADKINS MAYNARD, 96, of Proctorville, OH passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Woodland Oaks, Ashland, KY. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2025 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV with Elders Don Napier and Roger Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Wayne.
She was born October 12, 1929 at Stiltner, WV, a daughter of the late Boyd and Bessie Clark Adkins. Stella retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Plant after thirty-four years of service and went on to volunteer at St. Mary's Medical Center for five years. She was a member of the Philadelphia United Baptist Church at Lavalette, WV and a member of the Eastern Star at Ceredo, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Burgess Maynard, and five brothers, Newman B. Adkins, Jake Adkins, Norman B. Adkins, Bill W. Adkins, and Jack E. Adkins.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Maynard of Proctorville, OH; a son, Dr. Larry B. Maynard of Proctorville, OH; a sister, Wilma J. Maynard of Proctorville, OH; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Adkins of Wheelersburg, OH and Betty Adkins of Hurricane, WV; two grandchildren, Adam M. Ferguson (Kara) of Scott Depot, WV and Jessalyn S. Ferguson (Roger Smith) of Ashland, KY; and five great-grandchildren, Elisha G. Smith, Brynnlyn L. Smith, Patrick K. Smith, Felix D. Ferguson, and Stella A. Ferguson.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral services at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the service, which will be given to the nurses and nursing assistants at Woodland Oaks for the exceptional care they provided for Stella.
