WILLIAM TOLER Obituary
WILLIAM THOMAS "TOMMY" TOLER, 72 of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, with Pastor Kevin Call officiating. Private burial will follow at Community Memorial Gardens. He was born August 11, 1943, at Logan, W.Va., a son of the late Mohamad Masri and Genevieve Parsons Adams. Tommy was a former president of UMWA Local 1582, past member of the West Virginia House of Delegates and former Wayne County Magistrate. He was also preceded in death by his step-father Alvra Adams, a sister Tonya Adams, and a brother, Curtis Ray Toler. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Zelma Rae Brooks Toler; a daughter Tami Napier (Lonnie K.) of Wayne; a son Tom Toler (Donna) of Barboursville, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Lonnie Napier II and William Napier, Brittany Stephens, Sarah Stephens and Thomas Ray Toler, II; four great-grandchildren, Dallon, Liam, Weston and Elias Stephens; five sisters, Lyneeda Watts (George) of Nashville, Tenn., Donna Smith and Katrina Reeves (Lee) and Vesta Pauley, all of Wayne and Debbie Blanchard of Summersville, W.Va.; five brothers, Alvra Adams Jr.,and Arnold Adams, both of East Lynn, W.Va., Dale Adams (Betty) of Wayne, Luther Adams of Columbus, Ohio and Glen Adams (Stephanie) of Ohio. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Morris Funeral Home.

I was unaware of Tom's passing until recently. Tom was a great friend and a great UNWA leader when I worked in WVa. He and I were very close in those days. Our prayers go out to his family.
