Brad Bollinger Obituary

STONINGTON - Brad Bollinger, 81, of Stonington died 10:39 a.m. Saturday (May 24, 2008) in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Stonington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Radae officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville, with 8 p.m. Masonic rites, and one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery. Mr. Bollinger was born March 5, 1927, in Stonington, the son of Merle S. and Faye Nicholson Bollinger. He was a retired farmer and a Pioneer Seed representative for 10 years. He was a Korean War Air Force veteran. He was a member of Stonington United Methodist Church; 50-year member of AF&AM Lodge 1066, Stonington; Ansar Shrine; Springfield Consistory; Order of the Eastern Star 327, Blue Mound; and New Vandeveer American Legion Post 257, Stonington. He married Joan Thein on Jan. 3, 1948, in Stonington. Surviving are his wife; son, Tim Bollinger and wife Jean of Stonington; daughters, Christina Hunt and husband Joe of Fullerton, Calif.; Andrea Nolan and husband Michael of Taylorville; grandchildren, Nicholas Lynch, Matthew Lynch, Laurel Bollinger, Jacqueline Brett Bollinger, Suzanne Nolan, Meredith Bollinger, Claire Nolan and Wyatt Bollinger. I will remember Brad as a good family man with a lot true grit. I had not seen him for several years until he came up to the Nissan store and bought a new truck. I am sure he will be missed by all who knew him well.
