Carl Stiner Obituary

MOWEAQUA - Carl Stiner, Jr., 71, of Moweaqua died June 27, 2010 (6:30 p.m.). Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua with Ministers Greg Taylor and Lloyd Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010 also in Seitz Funeral Home. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to Moweaqua Veterans Memorial Park, Moweaqua Ambulance Service or Moweaqua Fire Department. Mr. Stiner was born May 6, 1939 in Moweaqua, the son of Karl and Mary E. (Bryson) Stiner. He married Mary Ann Gaither on February 11, 1961 in Moweaqua. She survives. Carl was a member of the First Christian Church of Moweaqua. He was a member of the Moweaqua Business Association and also a 37 year member of the Pana Elks Club #1261; a 39 year member of the Shelbyville Moose Lodge #1274; and Past President and Charter Member of the Moweaqua Lions Club for 24 years. He was Pow Wow Carnival Chairman for 14 years and Grand Marshal of the Pow Wow Parade in 2001. Presently he was serving on the Moweaqua Veterans Memorial Committee. Carl held a State of Illinois Plumbing license for 36 years. He formerly worked at Callison Ford, and from 1964-1978 he worked at Jesse Long Plumbing. He had owned and operated Stiner's Plumbing, Inc. since 1979. Surviving are wife Mary Ann, sons Carl Richard Stiner of Moweaqua, Curtis Dean Stiner and wife Christy of St. Joseph, Illinois and daughter Carla Ann Black and husband Doug of Taylorville, Illinois; grandchildren Blake Douglas Thomas and friend Faye Higbee, Amanda Jo Stiner, Whitney Lee Stiner, Connor Douglas Black and Chase Curtis Stiner; great grandson Carter William Thomas; brother Robert Stiner and wife Marianne of Maroa. So sorry to hear of Carl's passing and send condolences to Mary Ann and the family. We were neighbors across the creek. Willard and I grew up with Carl and Robert. With our folks we visited and Karl and Mary's many times. It was so nice to visit with Carl and Mary Ann at the Moweaqua HS reunions.
