DECATUR - Cheryl Ann Wisley, 75, of Decatur, passed away July 30, 2024, while visiting family in North Carolina.
Cheryl was born in Decatur on October 5, 1948, the daughter of Robert and Nellie (Long) Travis. She married James Wisley on July 18, 1970, at First United Methodist Church in Decatur. They enjoyed 50 years together until his death in 2021. Cheryl was an accomplished bank manager. In her spare time, she enjoyed flea markets, swap meets, car shows, and collecting old cars, along with gas and oil memorabilia. She was devoted to her family and spent countless hours cheering on her son and grandchildren in their sports and show choir activities. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Cheryl is survived by her son, Aron (Christina) Wisley of Decatur; grandchildren: Mason Wisley, Baylie (Che) McReynolds, Kade Wisley, Coltin Chalmers, and Justin Chalmers; and great-grandchild Rylan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, and sister, Bobetta Merrow.
Funeral services for Cheryl will be held at the Star of Hope Mausoleum Chapel in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2024. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 12, 2024. Burial in Graceland Cemetery will follow the service. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
