Cynthia Echols Obituary

DECATUR - Cynthia Maria Echols affectionately called "Cindy Doll", of Decatur, Illinois, departed this life on May 18, 2007. Cindy was born on July 19, 1960 in Decatur, the daughter of Nathaniel Echols and Adonia Echols-Jelks. She was educated in the Decatur School System. Cindy loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her witty sense of humor would bring laughter at all holiday and family events. Cindy leaves one daughter, Latanya Echols of Decatur; two sons, Ernest Beasley Jr., of Joliet and Isaiah Echols of Decatur; mother, Adonia Echols-Jelks; grandmother, Evangelist Odelia Simpson; sisters, Deborah Hayes and Charlotte Walker; brothers, Elder Nathaniel Freeman, Marcus Taylor and Brian Taylor all of Decatur; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cynthia was preceded in death by her father; Nathaniel Echols, three brothers, Pvt. Kenneth "Kenny" Echols, William "Ricky" Echols and Eric "Ronny" Echols, grandfather: Thomas "Daddy" Tommy" Simpson. "Cindy Doll", our mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend will be deeply missed. Private services & burial will be held. Professional services provided by Walker Funeral Service & Chapel.
