October 4, 1936 - October 26, 2025
Edythe Mae Atteberry Bork passed away on October 26, 2025, at her home in Oakley, Ill., after a two-year battle with cancer. She was born October 4, 1936, in Long Creek township, Macon County, Ill., the eldest daughter of Cecil and Nellie Mae Miller Atteberry. On April 24, 1955, she married Bernard Bork at Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur, Ill.
Edythe is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bernard; three children, Trudy and Thomas Heren, Atkins, Iowa, Dennis Bork, and Gayle Mae and Kerry Albert, Oakley, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Justin and Sarah Bork, Kaitlyn and Andrew Sell, Carson and Grady Sullivan, Kassandra and Peter Williams, Daniel and Jamie Heren, Kendall Mae Albert, and Jarrett Albert and fiancée Cordelia Henkel. Eleven great-grandchildren, Brynley and Sadie Mae Bork; Levi, Nora, Aden, and Thea Sell; Grayson Sullivan; Elsie Williams; Natalie, Emery, and Nico Heren; brother, Carl and Linda Atteberry; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond Atteberry; and sister, Evelyn Atteberry Eads.
The family invites you to celebrate Edythe's life in Christ with a service on Saturday, November 1st, at 11 a.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, 1969 E Johns Ave., Decatur, Ill., with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Ridge Cemetery, Oakley, Ill. The family invites friends to gather at the family farm after 1:30 p.m. to share a meal and some memories.
Memorials in Edythe's memory can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Decatur Ill.
