Eileen Wene Obituary

DECATUR - Eileen Emma Christina (Linthicum) Wene, 85, of Decatur, died Friday afternoon, December 19, 2008 at Heartland (Manor Care) of Decatur, surrounded by her family.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23rd, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Monday, December 22nd, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the funeral services at the church. Burial will be in Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut, IL. Memorials may be made to either the Kenney Civic League or Kenny Hertiage Association, 101 S. Johnston, Kenney, IL 61749. Eileen was born March 29, 1923, in Chestnut, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Louisa (Oertwig) Linthicum. She married Thomas Raymond Wene on April 29, 1945, in Chestnut, IL. She worked in the Trust Department of The First National Bank of Decatur and retired after many years of service. Eileen was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, her parents and only brother, Clarence "Deb" Linthicum. Eileen is survived by her daughter Nancy; son Tom Jr. (Cindy); three grandchildren Graham, Whitney, and Emma, all of Decatur; sisters-in-law Virginia Abshire (Donald) of Kenney and Mary Linthicum of Clinton. Five nieces and one nephew also survive. The family of Eileen Wene would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Angel, Alishia, Tami, Karen, Angela, Shevell, Antoinette, Shonda, Cassie, Jessica, Carolyn, Cindy, and Sally as well as the entire staff of Heartland (Manor Care) of Decatur. Thank you for compassion, care and comfort over the past years. Eileen was a wonderful Christian mother and grandmother whose true love and thoughtfulness for her family will be greatly missed.
