I am so very sorry that I could not come back to Decatur for the service, but I have physical limitations that make that impossible. I loved my mother very much, and will miss her greatly as will all of my family. I want to thank my sister Nancy for being the shoulder that Mom could lean on for so many years, she is truly an inspiration of kindness and love.

Gracie was one of the sweetest people we have ever known. My mother, Irene Morris who passed away on June 23rd, shared a room at ManorCare with Gracie for 27 days. Gracie was a perfect roommate. She always looked beautiful. We were amazed at how well she could put on her makeup. She took great pride in her appearance. I used to write notes to her when I went to visit my mother. She seemed to appreciate being part of the "conversation" in this way because her hearing was so bad. She would read my notes over and over. We thought of her very often and always imagined how much fun it would be to be able to have a conversation with her. She was a true lady and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
We send our condolences to her daughter, Nancy, and to the rest of her family.
