Jennie Schaefer Obituary

FORSYTH - Jennie L. Schaefer, 92, of Forsyth, IL, died 1:26 P.M., Monday, December 28, 2009, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 2, 2010, at St. James Catholic Church, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 P.M., Friday, January 1, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with a prayer service at 3:30 P.M. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church. Jennie was born June 27, 1917 in Murray, KY, the daughter of Clarence and Susie "Maw" (Wilkins) Deason. She married Paul V. Schaefer, Jr. in 1942. He preceded her in death in November 1992. Jennie was a member of St. Thomas and St. James Catholic Church. She was a secretary for Monsanto Company, a homemaker, and was co-owner of Schaefer Bowling Alley in Decatur. Jennie was a devoted wife for 50 years and loved her family very much. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas with her dear husband Paul. She is survived by her children Paul III and wife Sandra of Decatur, IL, Suzanne Hohenstein and husband Norm of New Hope, MN, John Michael and wife Pris of Plano, TX, Kathleen Wagner and husband Dennis of Charlotte, NC, Phil and wife Danette of Carterville, IL; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul Jr., brothers Clifton, Nelson & Joe, sister Treva.
