DECATUR - Kathy A. Bagley, 59, of Decatur, passed away at 1:02 pm, Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side. Services to celebrate Kathy's life will be at 11:00 am Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Edwards officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment with the "Flight Home" ceremony will be at Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Homeward Bound, CBN/700 Club, or the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center (in care of Kathy Bagley). She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School, Class of 1967. Kathy met the Lord in a radical way and received the Holy Spirit while in college, changing her life forever. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree, received a graduate assistantship in education, and then earned a teaching degree and a Masters in Education. She worked with Teen Challenge and later taught for the Department of Defense in Sembach, Germany, Fairmont, Illinois, New Town, (Danville) Illinois, Oreana, Illinois, and Pasadena, Texas. The Lord then moved Kathy back to her hometown of Decatur, where she began her own business, "The Real Estate Apartment Guide". After 18 successful years, the Lord opened a new door for her to work with CBN, a ministry she had avidly supported for over 2 decades. She was active in many church organizations and took several trips to Israel. She will be sadly missed by her two sisters: Patty (Rick) Reynolds and Terri Wingard, both of Decatur, one brother: Chuck (Patty) Bagley of Decatur, nieces: Katie (Tim) Naron, Tiffany Wingard, and Kristen Wingard, nephews: Kevin Bagley, Chad (Gloria) Reynolds, Shawn (Heidi) Reynolds, and Nic Wingard, two great nieces and one great nephew, two dogs: Chloe and Sophie, and numerous close, caring and dear friends. She was reunited in heaven with her parents, aunts and uncle: Ethel (Jack) Lichtenberger and Helen (Eddie) Peck, and Cecil Atteberry. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Perdekamp, Dr. Sieberg, and caregivers Erma Cohea, Stephanie Demascal, and Teresa Bula for the care and compassion they showed Kathy during her illness. Dear Bagley Family,
Sorry for your loss. There are no words that can ease the pain of death at this moment. But we can take comfort and joy in knowing death is not forever but merely a stepping stone into eternity with Jesus.

One of the joys of our life was knowing Kathy. We have been blessed by God to get to know Kathy. Our prayers are for the family to have God's peace during this time and His joy knowing that she is with God in the mansion He has for Kathy.

We were so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing but what a wonderful example she set for all who knew her. She had the sweetest smile and her countenance glowed with the love of Jesus.
We will be praying for the family and we send our love to all.

Dear Family:
I met Kathy at my home when I started a prayer group. We moved that group to the home of Renee Bednar then later to the renovated home of Kathy. Kathy never met a stranger. She was always gracious and welcomed all and anyone. I moved to Arizona in 2006 and did not see her again. She was a great person and a wonderful Christian friend.
Blessings,
Dottie Kuppler

Kathy will be missed by all who knew her. She was such a special lady and one that truly had a heart after God. From the first day I met her until present she has always had a tender spot in my heart. I enjoyed working with her for a short time on Renee Bednar's dance team and in Aglow. Praise God for the hope that she had and is now experiencing, absent from the body, but present with the Lord. Psalm 116:15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
