Mark Thomas Randles
July 7, 1954 - July 7, 2024
DECATUR - Mark Thomas Randles, 70, passed away peacefully in his home on July 7, 2024, surrounded by his beloved children, grandchildren, and family. He was a cherished brother, father, grandfather, and friend, whose kindness and warmth will be deeply missed.
Mark was born on July 7, 1954, in Hillsboro, IL, to Chuck and Jean (Hanisko) Randles. Mark spent his early years in Nokomis before his family moved to Decatur in 1966. He attended Holy Family and graduated from Steven Decatur High School in 1972. Mark worked alongside his dad, brothers, and son as a roofing contractor for Craftmasters, the company his father co-founded. He retired in 2017. He earned a reputation for hard work and dedication throughout his career.
Mark was a devoted father who taught his children the values of perseverance, independence, and love. His guidance and support shaped them into the strong individuals they are today.
In his leisure time, Mark found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid Illini and St Louis Cardinals fan and loved to golf and fish. He was a self-taught musician, playing the guitar and drums. He was always humming a tune. His laughter and enthusiasm for life were contagious and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Mark leaves behind a loving family that he created with his former wife, Linda Randles, during their nearly 30-year marriage: his children, Kelly Huggins (Jeremy) and their two children (Grace Lauren and Benjamin Elliot); Ramie Frank (Aaron) and their two children (Ida Elizabeth and Jackson Randles); and Charlie (Brandi) and their two children (Tyler Marcus and Tori Marie). His legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through them.
Surviving are his siblings Terry (Linda); Mike (Terri); Laurie Lindquester (Jerry), and Diane Smith (Brian), and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sally Kellerman.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held for family and close friends at a later date. In place of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Symphony Guild of Decatur.
