Mark Westcott Obituary
Mark Allen Westcott, age 66, of Argenta, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 23, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 28, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri to Kenneth and Lorraine Westcott. Mark grew up in St. Louis and graduated from Riverview Gardens High School. He worked as a Pressman and Distributor at Original Smith Printing and later Kraft Warehousing as a Forklift driver, where he was respected for his integrity, hard work, and loyalty.
On March 20, 1982, Mark married Julie Johnson, and they shared many beautiful years of marriage. Together, they welcomed two daughters into this world, Rachel Jenkins and Nichole Watkins.
A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Mark was a faithful member of Life Foursquare Gospel Church, where he fellowshipped and participated in worship and faith with many friends and loved ones. He found great joy in studying God's Word, encouraging others in their faith, and living out the message of Matthew 5:16 - "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
Mark was known for his generosity, great sense of humor, kind heart, and unwavering love for family, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed fishing, nature, (black bears), and anything and everything that had to do with his kids and grandkids. He was a Packers fan, a STL Cardinals fan, and enjoyed the show "Swamp People". He enjoyed participating in church events with friends and family and used every opportunity to demonstrate the hope that comes from a walk with Christ.
Mark is survived by his sister Debra Westcott; ex-wife, Julie Jurgens; daughter Rachel Jenkins; daughter and son-in-law Nichole and Joe Watkins; grandchildren Madi Watkins, Theo Watkins, Shirley Eickleberry, and Maybelle Eickleberry; and many other family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lorraine Westcott.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held on Saturday, November 22, at 11 a.m. at Life Foursquare Gospel Church (2954 West Ash Avenue, Decatur, IL) with Mark Cooper officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The family wishes to thank doctors and nurses at Barnes Jewish Hospital and Decatur Memorial Hospital, Kevin, Lisa, and Jared Bowers, and all those who have cared for Mark, for their love, prayers, and support during this time.
Though his earthly journey has ended, we rejoice knowing he has entered his eternal home, where he now hears the words of his Savior: "Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23.
