Michael Conour Obituary

HAMMOND - Michael D. Conour, 61, of Hammond, IL, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family at 5:20 pm, Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 21, 2010 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hammond Cemetery. Michael was born on November 8, 1948 in Monticello, IL, the son of Marshal and Thelma Kestner Conour. He married Donna E. Kreher on February 24, 1997 in Las Vegas, NV. She survives. Other survivors include: 1 Son: Christopher (Brianne) Conour of Cerro Gordo, IL, 1 Daughter: Michelle (Rick) Conour of Urbana, IL, 1 Step-Daughter: Rhonda (James) Matthews of Monticello, IL, 3 Grandchildren: Carlee, Gavin and Mason Conour, 2 Step-Grandchildren: Derrick and Joel Matthews, 3 Brothers: Tommy (Marge) Conour of Mattoon, IL, Ronnie (Renee) Conour of Decatur, IL, Richard (Kathy) Conour of Atwood, IL, 5 Sisters: Cynthia Ann Avery of Arthur, IL, Sue (Cecil) Moss of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Creta Danielson of Bement, IL, Cheryl (Craig) Chapman of Atwood, IL, Sharon Eckart of Hammond, IL, Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials are suggested to the Hammond Baptist Church. Michael was a truck driver for White Line Trucking. He was a former Teamster's Union member. He was a member of ABATE. He formerly owned and operated the Jackalope Inn in Hammond. His CB handle was "Black Bart" and he operated Black Bart DJ Service. He was a member of the Hammond Baptist Church. Michael was a NASCAR and Dale Earnhart fan. He loved his grandkids, motorcycles, boating and he was an Illini Basketball fan. Donna and Family, My heart goes out to you during this time. My prayer is that God brings to your mind sweet memories of Mike's impact on all the lives that He touched. He was a good friend of my father, Mike Madden. I remember coming to your house as a little girl. thinking of you and praying for you to be comforted during this time.

Donna and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayer is that you are comforted by sweet memories of Mike. I remember going to His house as a little girl. My father(Mike Madden) was a friend of Mike's and a co-worker. May memories of Him always bring you a sense of peace. Thinking of you.

Donna & family , Our heart and prayers go out to you at the loss of Mike. My best memorys of Mike was back in the 70"s when he drove for spector freight , he was Black Bart . He was a good guy and a friend to many . Those were the good times but now Mike is having his best time with Our Lord and Savior , Christ Jesus . He will live in our hearts forever.Jeremiah 31.11
