Michael Geiger Obituary
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 am on February 17, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur, IL.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of either a Mass card or a donation to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur, IL.
Since he donated his body to science, his remains will be interned at St. Valentine Church Cemetery, Oblong, IL, on a date to be determined.
Michael was born on January 3, 1935 in Oblong, IL (the Bend area), to Frank and Crescens (Iffert) Geiger. He married Caroline Ruppel on October 18, 1961.
Preceding him in death are his parents Frank and Crescens Geiger along with his brothers Franklin and Frank Geiger.
He is survived by his wife Caroline Geiger of Oreana, IL, son Damon Geiger (Deborah) of Sycamore, IL, daughter Pamela Roberts (Richard) of Guston, KY, and grandsons Andrew and Michael Geiger, III. He is also survived by his brother Leon Geiger of Oblong, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Michael had been a farmer in Oblong, IL (the Bend area), before moving to Oreana, IL. There, he worked as a welder for Caterpillar Tractor Company. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, traveling, and doing home improvements.

Carol and Family... I´m so sorry to hear of Mike´s passing. I have wonderful memories of times visiting with Mike and with you. He will always be remembered for his pleasant and heartwarming smile, kindness and wit. He surely will be missed by his family and his friends. God Bless you and your family at this time .
