R. Morthland Obituary

MACON - R. Verneal Morthland, 87, of Macon, IL passed away at 8:01 a.m. Monday (Oct. 30, 2006) in his residence. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 1, 2006) in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon, IL. Memorial contributions may be directed to Donor's Choice. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family via e-mail at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Mr. Morthland was born on July 29, 1919 in Warrensburg, IL the son of Roy and Bessie V. Kerwood Morthland. Verneal farmed his own land his entire life. He married June Edith Swinford on October 26, 1937. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2006. Surviving are his sons: Ronald N. Morthland and his wife Carmen of Decatur, IL, Donald E. Morthland and his wife Lee of Decatur, IL; daughter: Judy A. Perry of Arlington Heights, IL; sister: Bernice Paceley of Peoria, IL; grandchildren: Tony E. Morthland of Farmer City, IL, Tiffany deRamos of Palatine, IL, Jody L. Breiske of Holiday Hills, IL, Deborah Michelle Morthland of Mt. Zion, IL, Michelle Rene Horve of Forsyth, IL, Melanie Denise Moore of Mt. Zion, IL, Michael B. Morthland of Decatur, IL; nine great grandchildren.
