DECATUR - Richard W. Rambo, 60, of Decatur, IL, died 5:50 P.M., Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at his residence. Memorial service will be 12:00 - 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 10, 2009, at West Decatur Church of God. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to: Eagles Club # 507 Cancer Fund. Richard was born January 14, 1948, in Decatur, IL, the son of Robert William and Rosemary Rambo. He married Louise Cassity on April 16, 1993 in Decatur, IL. Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a painter for Bob Hanson for 30 plus years and enjoyed doing carpentry work. Richard was a member of Eagles Club #507 and was an avid Cubs fan. He is survived by his wife Louise; children Rick Rambo and wife Kim of Decatur, IL, Lori Hodges and husband Gerald of Decatur, IL; stepchildren Melissa McVaigh and husband Lonnie of Pensacola, FL, Sherry Braddock and husband Larry of Decatur, IL, J.D. Denniston of Corpus Christi, TX; brother George "Tom" Rambo of Decatur, IL; sisters Marsha McCarthy and husband Gerald of Decatur, IL, Kathleen Jensen of Mississippi and 25 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Robert William Rambo and mother Rosemary Rambo Gallup, stepfather Raymond Gallup and sister Janie Rambo.
