Robert Patterson Obituary

STRASBURG -- Robert Frederick Patterson, 67, of Strasburg died 6 p.m. Monday (Nov. 3, 2003) in his home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Homes, Ltd., Shelbyville, with Pastors Michael Mohr and E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before services. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials: Strasburg Lions Club or Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod World Relief.

Mr. Patterson was born Aug. 29, 1936, in Shelbyville, the son of Frederick Andrew and Ruby Aileen Rentfro Patterson. He was a graduate of Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1953. He farmed and also worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 32 years, retiring Dec. 31, 1999. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, Strasburg Lions Club and International Ford Retractable Club. He married Marilyn Ruth Kroening on Aug. 30, 1957.

Surviving are his wife; daughters, Kathy Yakey and husband Pat of Mode; Cindy Neff and husband Phil of Brownsburg, Ind.; Debbie Frash and husband Erick of Indianapolis, Ind.; mother, Ruby Patterson of Shelbyville; brother, Richard Patterson and wife Dee of Dexter, Mo.; grandchildren, Rachel and Amanda Neff; Hannah, Kelly and Morgan Frash; stepgrandchildren, Shawna and Veronica Frash.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Patterson.
