Agustin de Goytisolo Obituary

DE GOYTISOLO RECIO, Agustin, 88, of Havana, Cuba, passed away peacefully in Miami Beach, Florida, on May 15, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Josefina Gelats de Goytisolo; his children Agust¡n Gelats de Goytisolo and Sylvia Jorge de Goytisolo, Josie Goytisolo, Mar¡a Goytisolo Hackley and Sherlock Hackley Jr., Dolores de Goytisolo Sanchez-Carrion and Eduardo Sanchez-Carrion; his grand- children, Sisi, Augie, Sof¡a, Gabriela and Joaqu¡n de Goytisolo, Cristina and Helena Hackley, and Catalina, Lola and Eduardo Sanchez-Carrion; and by his siblings Jorge and Mariana Goytisolo and Cecilia Goytisolo O'Reilly. A mass for the eternal rest of his soul will be celebrated today, May 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, located at 1400 Miller Road, Coral Gables, Florida 33146. In lieu of flowers, please kindly make donations to Agrupaci¢n Cat¢lica Universitaria, 720 NE 27th Street, Miami, Florida 33137-4697 in loving memory of Agust¡n de Goytisolo Recio. Dear Josefina & family,
While I was pleased to attend today's mass and personally express my condolences, I am writing this for your nietos/nietas whom I do not know as well.
I had the privilege of following in Agustin's footsteps, although I could never fill his shoes, at both the CNC and HACR. Sus nietos/nietas need to know that their abuelo had some very unique qualities[humility/simplicity/empathy/integrity/etc.] and was extremely respected by all those who met & worked with him throughout the country. At many meetings where I was his replacement, I was asked about him by CEO's and senior executives as well as received many well-wishes to give to him!!
Mi tio and your abuelo was well-respected and loved by many and he will be missed!!
