Alfonso was my boss for nearly 6 yrs. But not just my boss, but a friend and a great example of perfection and kindness. Always very supportive and willing to help. This is a huge loss for all of us who at some point in our lives had the honor of interacting with Alfonso Zequeira. I know that he will always live in my heart, because he sure earned a special place there. He will be missed, but never forgotten....I believe the best way to honor him is by following his footsteps. I will forever cherish the good times, but most of all I thank god that I had the opportunity to meet and work with someone like him...Alfonso....it has been a pleasure!!!!thank you for the lessons, for your support and frienship! thanks for 6 awesome years...I am a better person because of you. May God have you in his Glory.

To his family, all my love, especially to my great friend Stella, whom I adore dearly. To his sons; guys I know he is so proud of all of you... and he will continue to guide you, no doubt about that...

God, let us find comfort in your prayers.

With all my love and respect,

Adriana Fragosa.

Dear family, it is with great sadness in our hearts that we received the news about Alfonsito. As most of you know, mainly the older members of the family, since our childhood days in Cuba, thru my cousins Quetica & Juanito Ledo, I was priviledged to be considered just as another member of your family, the Ledo Family. Alfonsito, Juanito, Quetica and I played together as children and partied together in our early teenage years until they left Cuba in 1961 and I did likewise in 1967. Many years have passed, and while we don't see or hear from each other as often as we would like (due to the distance and job and personal responsibilities), we always kept in contact thru Pilar, Alicia or Joseíto. We'll continue to do so because of the love we feel for each other. Please receive our deepest condolences. God bless Alfonsito. May he rest in peace.

I MET ALFONSO IN 1975. WE BOTH FREQUENTED THE SAME CLUBS AND WE BECAME WONDERFUL FRIENDS. HE WAS A GREAT DANCER AND A GREAT FATHER. I OF COURSE BECAME A CLIENT OF GROVE CLEANERS AND EVERYTIME I WENT BY THE GROVE WE WOULD HAVE CUBAN COFFEE AND I WOULD CHAT WITH PILAR HIS MOM AS SHE WOULD BE WORKING IN THE BACK, ALWAYS HELPING ALFONSO. I STILL PROUDLY OWN A T-SHIRT THAT SAYS "MARIANAO" WHICH WAS ALFONSO'S TEAM.

I REMEMBER HIS TWO LITTLE BOYS AND HOW PROUD HE WAS OF THEM ALWAYS TELLING ME HIS PLANS OF HIS NEXT VACATION WITH THEM. ALFONSO WAS A GREAT FRIEND AND I AM GLAD I HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING HIM .

MY CONDOLENCES TO HIS SONS AND THE REST OF HIS FAMILY/

It's unfortunate that we have lost such a great person. He was truly one of a kind. I'll always remember the friendly tone he had when he answered the phone, or how he would ask me if I finally had his son as a teacher. He will stay in my memory as well as those of many other people. My heart goes out to his family and his friends.

A mutual friend introduced me to Alfonso over 30 years ago. In those early years we both often frequented local Miami clubs and restaurants, and I became a believer in knowing that there really was a good dry cleaner! Not only did he keep my clothes looking clean and new, he put that sparkle into my life as well. As the years went by, our friendship became more professional and we didn't visit much outside his business - but I did so enjoy chatting with him each time I did go to the store. Alfonso never forgot where he came from and was always giving to local charities and organizations, he always greeted you with a smile and although the cleaner had pick up and delivery service, many of his clients (like me) still went personally to the store just to visit with him. His entire staff at both stores must have been hand-picked by him, as they all were cheerful, efficient and very helpful. Working there seemed a pleasure and not just a job - most of his employees have been there for years. Even his delivery man, Freddy became like part of my family and I looked forward to seeing him. You could spot Alfonso's Grove Cleaner trucks all over Miami and his clientele was the creme of Miami as well as the local workmen. He was a a friend to all and took time to give insight and advice when appropriate. His brother Orlando shares Alfonso's good nature and I know this is very hard for him - I wish him love and support during this time - may it help to know that Miami was enriched by his brother, Alfonso, and he will be deeply missed. With love and sympathy, Lynda & Michael Gordon
