Barbara Ann Parker

February 17, 1933 - April 12, 2025

Coral Gables, Florida - Barbara "Babs" Parker passed away peacefully at her home on April 12th. Born and raised in Miami Beach, she was the heart and soul of a large and close-knit family whom she cared for and loved, as she often said, "to the moon and back." She met Leonard "Lenny" Parker who told her at 18 on their first date that they would get married and have four boys. He wasn't far off. They had five.

Babs graduated from the University of Miami, married Lenny after his tour of duty with the Air Force in Korea and remained married for an incredible 70 years until her passing.

Babs cultivated a stunning rose garden, loved antiques, candy and caviar, and believed there was always room for dessert. She taught third grade, was an accomplished artist, and her greatest love was family. She was an amazing wife and mother who made managing a life with five rambunctious boys seem effortless. She was brilliant, elegant, graceful, strong, and fiercely loyal.

Babs expressed her love in the little things like a much-needed hug, a poem on a birthday card, or an amazingly detailed work of art drawn on a lunch bag. She somehow found time for these things, and for the big things as well, like the unwavering support she gave her family and friends. She built her life on love, laughter, resilience and the belief that family is everything.

She will be missed dearly, and her legacy will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved her.

Babs Parker is survived by her five sons, five daughters-in-law, 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
