Barbara Rowan Obituary

ROWAN-Barbara J of Hollywood, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 15, 2014 after struggling with small cell lung cancer. She was the daughter of Florence and Emanuel Stein of Long Beach, NY. She is survived by her daughter Andrea and her son Marc. She is also survived by six adoring grandchildren Joshua, Zachary, Andrew, Charlotte, Jade and Deva. All will miss her dearly. Her community of friends in Florida will also miss her greatly. Barbara was the heart and soul of her family. She was smart, kind, funny and a great connector of generations and extended family and friends. All benefited from her love of Jewish heritage and culture. Barbara was a trained concert pianist. Barbara graduated with a BA from NYU and worked for a time as a teacher. Later in life Barbara ran an auto leasing company. Barbara devoted her life to family, friends and community. Her loss leaves a forever hole in the lives of all who knew her.
