Ben was always more than a work related person. I considered him a friend as well. When my husband died, Ben would often call & make sure i was OK & remind me that " he carried my flag". Thanks to him, he helped to make my life easier after Bill´s passing with his continued emotional support!

As an owner at La Gorce for many years while Ben served on the board, I came to know him. He was always a cheerful presence and appreciated his role and respected others. I knew he was ill, but he did bring that into conversation, and did not let illness stop him from enjoying his life to the fullest. My condolences to his wife Carol and his family. RIP.

Dear Family ,
As an owner at La Gorce for many years , I knew Ben .
He was always a sharing and caring individual and had this building and the people who lived here and worked here in his heart .
A devoted Olympian forever with his memorable license plates to reflect his desire to share that special event .....that was a passion . I was so pleased to hear that he did make it to Paris . I heard of his passing this evening and was shocked and saddened . He never let on about his challenge and remained positive about everything . My deepest sympathies to all of you and I will say a prayer for Ben this eve . With warmest regards

Ben, I cannot express how grateful I am for you. I will never forget when you helped me hike on the mountain. I made that hike and I am still here today because of you. You will be forever in my heart. Rest in peace my friend. You are a champion and forever my hero. Bel

We send our deepest sympathies to our dear friend Carol and Ben´s families. Ben´s dry wit and enthusiastic spirit defined his character. Carol and Ben enjoyed so many travel experiences together! He was determined to be part of the Paris Olympics! We have several memories that make us chuckle and laugh out loud. His overwhelming knowledge and support for the US Olympic swim teams could not be matched. I will never forget his recent comment when faced with the reality of his illness; (words we all should live by)
"There is no crying in baseball!" Peace sweet friend!
