BRIAN BAUER Obituary

BAUER, BRIAN EARL, 67, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2011, surrounded by his family, after a long and very courageous battle with bile duct cancer. Brian was born and raised in the Buffalo, NY area, the son of the late Earl R. Bauer and one of five siblings. After attending the University of Buffalo and marrying his high school sweetheart, he spent two years in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, Brian was Used Car Manager at Kenmore Ford in Tonawanda, NY. In 1974 he moved with his family to Miami, where he and his two brothers became partners in and owners of a very successful tennis court contracting company, Agile Courts Construction Co. Brian is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Lou, his son, David and daughter-in- law, Tarri, his daughter Jennifer Jones, son-in-law Scott, and one year old grandson, Jesse. Also surviving Brian are his mother, Catherine Bauer, sisters Karen Geiger (Jerry) and Kathy Harris (Jim), his brothers Bruce (Barbara) and Brant (Patty), many nieces, nephews and countless extended family members. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to a memorial fund that will be forwarded to Brian's surgeon, Dr. Stephen Chang, at the National University Hospital in Singapore, to be used to help further his research into cancers of the liver and bile duct. Please email [email protected] or call 305-667-1228 for details. A memorial celebration of Brian's life will be held between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25 at:

Just found this site. I never could quite get a grip on his forehand and he ran me ragged on the court, every time. I also couldn't quite get a grip on why he ordered the same thing at the Capt's Tavern, every time we went to dinner. But that was Brian, he knew what he liked. I will never forget Brian's generosity to me over the last 20 plus years. He was a true gentleman in every sense. I will miss him terribly. Love to all of the Bauers.

I will light a candle I will say a prayer and with the knowledge that he is resting peacefully I too will find peace. My deepest sympathy to the entire Bauer and extended family. Brian was a beautiful man and I don't imagine the Easter egg hunt will ever be the same without him.
Much love to you all.
