Bruce Cease Obituary

Bruce Maurice "Moe" Cease

November 2, 1951 - March 14, 2024

Vero Beach, Florida - On March 14, 2024 we lost a good man.

Bruce was born in Miami to Parents Harold and Betty Cease. Grew up in the Westchester Neighborhood attending Everglades Elementary, West Miami Junior High and Coral Park Senior High where he excelled in Baseball under coach Red Berry. Received a scholarship to attend Miami-Dade Junior College South where he played for Coach Charlie Green. Drafted by the Washington Senators and later traded to the Houston Astros where he played minor league ball under coach Leo Posada. In the off-seasons he attended FIU where he graduated and went on to law school at South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. Following law school, he returned to Miami where he joined father Harold and brother Allan in the practice of Law. Known as "Moe" growing up, and later as "Bruce" as an adult. He made many friends throughout life and mentored many, many clients during his 44 years as an attorney. Moe was a Charter Member and Past President of the West Kendall Optimists where he coached baseball for many years. He loved boating, fishing and diving, having survived a shark attack in Bimini on one of his dive trips.

Survived by Wife of 42 years, Rhonda; Brothers Allan (Thien), Michael (Carmen), Dana (Myra) and Jeffrey (Anne) and "6th Brother" Harvey Kornfeld (Mercy Yaniz) who spent every day and many nights with Bruce during his illness for which we will always be thankful. Step-Children Michelle Ropp (Rich) and Sean Lippincott (Joanne). "Pop" to Trenton, Tanner, Carolina and Ryan. Also survived by Aunt Barbara Bernstein, Uncles Maurice Wright and Albert Cease; many Cousins, Nieces and Nephews and Friends.

We all lost a very good man.
