Carlos Lidsky Obituary
September 27, 1949 - October 20, 2022
Surfside, Florida - Carlos Lidsky passed away on October 20, 2022 at the age of 73 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
He is survived by his lifelong soul mate Betti, his beloved children Ilana and her husband Patrick, Daria and her husband Joe, Ronit and her husband Alex, and Isaac and his wife Dorothy, and his 14 beautiful grand children Bailey, Carigan, Eden, Dune, Jacob, Jack, Haven, Payton, Lily Louise, Phineas, Thaddeus, Avery, Clementine and Asher.
Carlos, known as Papi to his family, lived an incredible life filled with love and meaning. Papi had a brilliant and successful career as a lawyer, many talents and hobbies and causes. He gave freely, never asking anything in return. He listened from his heart always making each of us feel like the most special person in the world. He laughed whole heartedly and often. He loved us unconditionally. He was humble and kind. Brave and fierce when it came to caring for those he loved.
Papi will be deeply missed. We miss him already. We miss his smile. His voice. His quiet strength. His tight hugs. His incredible wisdom. His endless support. His one of a kind sense of humor. His resilience. And his unconditional love. Oh how he lit up a room when he danced.
Papi's Crew will honor his legacy and carry him in our hearts always. His light will shine on us forever.

Hello Betti,
I don't know if you remember me since we only met once, briefly, at your apartment in New York. It was holiday time, maybe 1972 and I was with my first wife, Donna and little girl, Georgia.
Carlos and I were roommates at Indiana State during the 1968/69 school year. I knew early on that we would be lifelong friends, and so we were, though sadly, we had no contact the past 50 years. There were times in the intervening years when I tried to make contact, leaving messages with a secretary. I should have tried harder.
During our year together (wow, that was before Neil Armstrong walked on the moon!), Carlos also became a good friend to all of my family (my mom and dad, 2 brothers and 4 sisters), and my siblings and I have shared our memories of him since learning of his passing recently.
Betti, my heart aches for you and your family, but I am sure that you take comfort and strength from each other, and from the memories you share.
I informed Dave Oathout, who was also a friend and roommate of Carlos of his passing. Dave and I have remained friends through the years and I see him on my annual fishing trip to Alaska.

Carlos was the best man in my first wedding and my first roommate at Indiana State I have been trying to reach him for several years but alas it will not be I and our mutual friend Bob Muessig will both miss him as will everyone who´s life he touched. Rest in piece Carlos
