Paul Anthony Levin, born February 19, 1952, passed away on January 22, 2026.
Paul was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Wallace and Eudyce Levin and was raised in Surfside, Miami, Florida. He grew up in a home along Biscayne Bay, a place that shaped his lifelong love of the ocean, fresh citrus fruit, and his beloved Bull Mastiffs. Those early years by the water remained close to his heart throughout his life.
After high school, Paul attended the University of Oklahoma, where he studied history. He later moved to Durham, North Carolina, where he formed many lifelong friendships and met his wife, Jane, along with her two children, Anna and Derek. Paul, Jane, Anna, and Derek eventually settled in Hillsborough, North Carolina, where Paul continued a successful career in sales.
Paul was an avid sports fan, especially football. He proudly and passionately cheered for the Miami Dolphins and the Oklahoma Sooners. He was also a dedicated poker player, forming deep and lasting friendships through weekly games that spanned many years. Above all, Paul had a profound love for animals, particularly dogs, who brought him great joy and companionship.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Eudyce Levin; his brother, Mark Levin; and his stepson, Derek Sterling.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Levin; his daughter, Anna Sterling; her partner, Sarah Haney; and his grandchildren, Emerson Sterling-Haney and Griffin Sterling-Haney. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Walfish; his sister-in-law, Cecile Levin; his cousins Johnny and Roger Heuberger; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Paul will be remembered for his loyalty, his love of family, his passion for sports, and the friendships he cultivated throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, devotion, and enduring connections.
