Dear Diane, Danny (and family) & Mr. Wick,

My deepest condolences on the passing of Chris. Chris and I go way back to swimming days. We swam together for the Hurricanes swim team, against each other in high school (relays, thank God) and with each other again at UM. Life and swimming was much better with him. Chris was an awesome competitor, best friend and best man at my wedding. I have so many great memories of him both in and out of the pool. He had a great 200 freestyle, loved cars and just hanging out together. He will be missed more than words can say. Diane, I know his love of cruise ships and cruising was surpassed only by his love for you. Chris will live on forever in our hearts and in our fond memories. Now, the Lord will use him as an Angel to help watch over us until He comes again.
Love, Lane

I am so sorry to hear of Chris' passing. I swam with Chris at U of Miami for only one year but I do remember a story that is the stuff of legend. I think it was in 1980 or 81 that Chris was swimming at the National Independent Conference Championships, where he placed 8th in the morning 200 free race, and came back that evening in the finals and won from the outside lane. Great performance from a great guy. I will remember that always. My deepest condolances to his family.

To the Wick Family
Clive and I remember so well when Chris was born. Danny was a swimmer at the Corla Gables Country Club with our three children. The first time Mary brought Chris to the pool(as a tiny infant) all the swimmers jumped out of the pool to see this precious little boy. He grew up to be such a fine young man. The family has been so close, helping each other out when there was a need. We were so sorry we were out of town for the service, but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Your family has always been so special to us. Our family knows too well what it is like to lose a son and a brother, but all the wonderful memories of the good times give you strength, as do the prayers of all of your friends.
God Bless You.
Love, Janet and Clive Shrader

Dear Diane:
It's weighed heavy on my heart for years that we went our separate ways. I think quite frequently of all the antics you, Robyn, Michelle, Lisa and I got into. I have photos upon photos of the fun and yes, sometimes crazy things we did. I remember all the family gatherings we had at the Edwards house that always included MY gang. I think Mom and Dad just always considered you all their extended family of children. Ah, then came the days when we were old enough to date. Here's where we interject Chris. I didn't know what to think of him at first but I did know one thing for sure. You two were made for each other and loved each. In this day when marriages don't last that long you two were together forever and always will be. I'm sure Chris is looking down on you right now and taking care of you. Chris was a one in a million guy, great personality, funny and if he was willing to take on your whole gang of friends that came with loving you, what more can I say. GREAT GUY!!!!!

Dear Danny and Mr. Wick,
Mom relayed the message to me about Chris' death. I am so sorry for your loss. I still remember Chris as "Christopher" when he was so young and we were all swimmers together. Hard to believe he is no longer with us...but I'm so thankful that he is with our Lord, whole again, and at peace. You know that our family knows the pain of losing a brother and son with Steve's death, as well as the loss of my husband. Our prayers will be with all of you. I know you two were a great brother and a great dad to him!

Dearest Di, words cannot do justice to express Chris' passing. I am reminded of the time that you, Chris, Mary and I went to South Beach when we were all first dating(1985?). Chris came out of the ocean after an ocean swim all muscled up with a bronzed tan, swim googles still on and a studly speedo! I was like who is this guy...a French Canuck! Who was he? A...quick witted, funny, loyal, enjoyable to be with, intelligent, gentlemen, great... husband, son, brother, friend, out-law, etc. We will all miss him immensley and remember him for now and look forward to when we see him again in the next life. Take care and God bless. Love you, john-e-g' (brother-out-law)

To Chris and Family: Our love depends on the receiver of the love. Let a thousand people pass before us, and we will not feel the same about each. But, Chris' love for each one of us was unique. As an employee of his at one time, he was a very considerate caring man. I missed him before and I know that he will be missed by all of us that really cared for him and loved him.
