To have known David Comras is to have loved him! His smile on that handsome face, would light up the room! His was as beautiful inside as he was outside. Sweet, kind & loving !!! That will remain with me for the rest of my life.

Reconnected with David on Facebook a couple of years ago, but have wonderfully fond memories from childhood in Great Neck. David was an early and persistent crush of mine. So saddened and shocked to hear this news today from my childhood friend Eric Yablonka. To lose him so so young - it just doesn't compute with me.

I am lucky to have spent many times with David over the past few years doing two of the things that he loved most. David loved cars and boats. We spent many memorable days together at the track, driving our cars and attending other regular car events and on the water, wave running or boating near his house. We have all lost a dear friend and a buddy who we could always rely on. David you have been taken from us all too soon, but the good memories will live on!

Words about David ….
Last night I lost one of my best friends shockingly - completely out of the blue. David Comras was a great guy - a good father – a Comras Brother - and a really great friend - he was passionate about fun & adventure. Whether it was prestige automobiles, boating or his love for snow skiing David was always smiling. There should be a run named for him @ Snowbird - one that is challenging - but ultimately a smooth run in high altitude. Steep & Deep my friend - you got me to ski with a helmet - and i admired the way you cut the trails & lines thru the fresh powder. You had a Phd in skiing, I am crying inside missing your giggles and confident voice. 55 was way too young for you to leave us .... Over the last almost 20 years – I can't imagine an event or great time out that didn't include you David. We loved him as a husband to Jamie – but in her absence – David became much more in the last 7 years. He really grew up and was supportive father to Ashley & Bryan and helped lay a strong foundation for them to become strong willed & independent adults. Not hearing your voice or not getting a text from you every other day or so - is going to leave me with a tremendous loss ...

For the last four year my son has been a friend of Bryan,a s a result David and I became friends, and often will talk about our kids, I will certainly miss him. Our prayers are with his family.
