Elena Hernandez Alvarez-Buylla

HERNANDEZ, ALVAREZ- BUYLLA, ELENA, 80, of Miami, Florida, beloved mother, sister, and abuela died peacefully in her home on November 28, 2009. Born in Havana, Cuba, Elena received her Doctorate in Pharmacology from the University of Havana in 1954. She came to the United States and at the age of 45 received her Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and was the owner of San Jose Pharmacy in Miami, from 1979 to 1996. Elena was a very strong person with a generous heart. During the last ten years of her life she became an accomplished artist and enjoyed working part-time as a Pharmacist at Sedano's Pharmacy. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Ivone Poulsen Hughes (Ian) and Patricia Hernandez Bimonte, and her grandchildren, Daniel, Anthony, Kevin, and Nicholas.
