Homestead, Florida - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elena Chio; Beloved mother, wife and daughter. Born in Cuba, Elena emigrated with her mother to the U.S. as a child, calling Miami -Dade home for over 50 years. From her life journey from high school graduate, to a wife to Ulises Sr. and mother to Ulises Jr.; Miami was her home. Elena was full of joy, leaning into life, music and dancing whenever the opportunity arose. You may have had the pleasure to meet Elena, as she volunteered at voting polling places and worked as an extra on Telemundo productions. She will be missed sorely by her son Ulises and daughter in law Tamani, as well as the many friends and family that she has left behind.
