Ernest Pinto Obituary

PINTO, ERNEST J., 90, of Elmtowne died Friday at home. Born in Hammonton her was a longtime resident there, Mr. Pinto also lived in Hallandale Beach, FL for many years. Mr. Pinto was a Building Contractor, and he owned Pinto Construction in Hallandale Beach, FL. He was formerly the mayor and city commissioner of Hallandale Beach, he served as chairman and member of the Port Everglades Authority. He was a member of St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Hallandale Beach, and his company built St. Charles Borromeo R.C. Church in Hallandale Beach. Mr. Pinto was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Ida "Tootsie" Pinto, two brothers, Joseph Pinto and William Pinto, four sisters, Theresa DelVecchio, Mary Penza, Anna Mascino and Florence Mascio. He is survived by one daughter, Vernita Pinto of Atlanta, GA, his loving companion, Genevieve Campione of Elmtowne and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held Thursday, 7:00 - 9:00 PM and Friday, 9:00 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 10:00 AM at St. Martin DePorress R.C. Church, 129 Park Avenue, Hammonton. Burial will follow at Grenmont Cemetery in Hammonton.
