Mr. Matheson forever changed the trajectory of my eight year old life back in 1971.
I trekked relentlessly for two years , knocking on every door within four miles of my house .a lot of doors were closed in my face.
Then one day I knocked on the right door. Finley Matheson's door. (Directly across from my own front door on 1121 Sunset Drive !)
A red haired , barefoot girl rang his doorbell and stood before him.and asked if she could could keep a pony in his back yard .
He was very tall.. and did not seem too impressed with my presentation. He was silent as he stares at me intently , and then said , "YES".
He made my wild dream of owning a pony a reality . (A pony I actually did not even have yet)
The Willis and Jimmy Flick next door helped me find "Wendy", the little red pony in the picture ... We built a little wooden stall in his back propery where she lived for MANY years .
Thank you forever Mr. Matheson.
Full circle .. I now teach your superstar GREAT GREAT and amazing Granddaugher martial arts. (Appropriately named Cree)
I still have horses thanks to you.. a lot of them !!

So sorry to hear of Mr. Matheson's passing. Growing up next door to him and Mrs. Matheson, we couldn't have had better neighbors. Always had great animals and wonderful plants in great abundance. Mr. Matheson was so very kind and always the gentleman. What a great guy.
