Francis Kett Obituary

KETT, FRANCIS XAVIER, born March 10, 1932, in Milton Massachusetts, died on July 29, 2014 at the age of 82. He is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine Marie (McDermott) Kett, age 79, and their five children and their spouses: Tim (56) and his wife Maura, Dan (55) and his wife Karen, Kevin (54) and his wife Susan, Brian (53) and his wife Georgeta, Eileen (50), and her husband Bill. Frank was a graduate of a College of the Holy Cross in Worcester MA and the North American College in Rome. Frank and Kay were long-time residents of the City of Plantation, moving to south Florida in 1969 and running a successful real estate company in the city for over 40 years. A talented athlete with a sharp memory for statistics, Frank could frequently be seen coaching sports teams in the city and cheering on his favorite Boston Red Sox. Frank and Kay were certified Scuba divers and avid birders who loved to travel the world pursuing these passions. Frank's greatest joy came from spending time with his 9 grandchildren: Ryan (26), Travis (25), Lauren (23), Kathleen (23), Tim (22), Sean (21), Andrew (21), Dylan (21), and Frankie (17). Visitation will be at the T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home 7001 NW 4 Street on Friday 5:00-8:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 9:30 AM at St. Gregory Catholic Church 200 N. University Drive Plantation, FL 33324. Burial will follow at Our Lady Queen Of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Audubon Society or the American Cancer Society. tmralph.com 954 587-6888

Dear Kett Family,
We were so sorry to hear of Frank's death. I happened to be in Ft. Lauderdale on the afternoon of the funeral. I had come down to see my daughter, Mary, who was vacationing in Miami and the Keys. David had driven down with me. On the next day, Sunday, David and I drove over to your old house on Fig Tree--only to learn that you had sold the house and the new owners did not know where you had moved. We then headed home and Mary continued up the west coast of Florida and will make her way to my house this weekend
Please know all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I have fond memories of when you all moved into the Fig Tree house--and on the first Christmas all of you swam in the pool. The second Christmas only the children swam and the third Christmas no one swam.
With love,
Joanne

Brian,
Meeting your Dad and Mom at the big 40 bash all those years ago was something to remember...and that poem he wrote for you and Georgie was one for the record books. Seeing them again at the Club Med "friends and family" weekend happy hour several years ago was a real treat. Your Dad still had those sparkly eyes and held your Mom's hand. What a guy...

I'll be thinking of you and your family during this difficult time with lots of love. I am so happy that Jay could be there with you this weekend. Love you Skipper.
Always your Gilligan,

John Weaver
