Gregory Peck Obituary

Gregory Peck
August 16, 1956 - May 5, 2022
Miami, Florida - It is with profound sadness that the family of Gregory William Peck announce his passing on May 5, 2022 at the age of 65 years.
Greg is lovingly remembered by his Mother, Althea Peck; Brothers, Jeffrey Peck, and Gene (Michele) Peck; Nephews Gene (April) Peck, and Brandon Peck; Niece Chelsea (Mitch) Gurevich; and Great Nephews Asher and Max Gurevich, and Greyson Eugene Peck. He also will be deeply missed by his cousins Cheryl (Chris) Gamst, Kim (Les) Bishop, Karen (Steven) Amsler, Steve Garrison and all their wonderful children and extended families. He will also be missed by his many friends in Miami, Florida, Chelmsford, Massachusetts and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he touched so many with his big smile and kind heart.
Greg was predeceased by his loving Father, Eugene R. Peck, a life long aviator and career Eastern Air Lines Captain. Greg was incredibly proud of his Dad and is interred by his side.
Greg was born on August 16, 1956 in Miami, Florida. He attended St. Brendans Elementary School and Coral Park Sr High School where he was active in sports including football and baseball. Growing up in the suburb of Westchester were his happiest days. Playing neighborhood sports and spending time with friends in a simple and safe surrounding were the topic of many conversations later in life. Greg loved raising and riding horses in his younger years. He participated in horse shows and rodeo events around the State. He loved boating, fishing, water skiing and taking trips to the Florida Keys. He received his associates degree in college and learned from the ground up the HVAC mechanical trades.
There was not a heating or cooling system that he could not design, install or repair. Greg started his first of several air conditioning and cooling companies, beginning with Prevent Service, which he started with his father and A1 Instant Air Conditioning with his brother Jeff and continued his trade until later in life. His affinity for working with his hands, a skill learned from his father, earned him friends quickly as he was always there to help with a construction, electrical or plumbing problem. His family and friends knew they could always count on him and he would drop whatever he may be doing to lend a hand. In Greg's later life, he relocated to New England where he lived and worked on family construction projects and just enjoyed being with the cousins. Greg's keenest passion was being there for his family. In a world of uncertainties, you could always count on Greg to put his family and friends needs first.
Gregs family will continue to celebrate him every day but even more so today as it would be his 66th Birthday. On Birthday's, it was our Father Gene Peck that started a tradition of the birthday celebrant receiving "Breakfast In Bed" served by as much of the surrounding family as possible. Breakfast and Birthday cards are presented with flowers picked from around the house. Greg will be remembered today in the "Peck Tradition" Dads final words to us were " Talk to me, I will answer. You may not always hear me too well, but I will answer." Mom always reminds us "Parents hold their children's hands for just a little while, but their hearts forever. Greg spent many days with Mom and always came back home to help her with house projects. Greg loved his Mom and considered her the most important person in his life. Our Mother, Althea Peck would like to add.: "I love you Greg, God blessed you with a big heart. You will remain in my heart forever, never to be forgotten. Lots of Love and Bear Hugs Forever.
A Visitation and brief Prayer Service was held at Moster Mortuar on May, 12th 2022 with Pastor John Wall presiding. Greg's interment immediately followed at East Hill Cemetery, 704 E. State Road 44 Rushville, Indiana. You may view the service or post fond memories on a tribute wall @mostermortuary.com

I´m several years too late, but have made my first return trip to Miami since I left in 1981.

Sadly, I miss a chance to catch up, and to recall stories of Carrier and years gone by.

My heart and soul ache at the loss of Greg and my prayers go out to Althea, Jeff, Gene, and to the entire family. Greg was my friend. We truly had the best of times growing up in our Westchester neighborhood. Our trips to the IHOP when we should have been at Mass, going to Anthony´s Pizzaria, playing sports, swimming, going to Prom with our dates and Greg´s dad telling us to go ahead and drive the Cougar, or just hanging out and talking about stuff. Greg all I can say now is I know that I will see you again. Rest now. We have lots of stuff to catch up on.

My deepest sympathy to you Althea and your family. If I was in Miami now, a hug would be in order to share my sorrow with you. God bless you, Gail

We planted a tree in memory of you Greg as it will be a constant reminder of all you meant to Les and I over the years that you lived with us and before. You were loved by our whole family and will be missed forever.

Gregg was a special friend to me and helped me not only with household problems but more importantly with life situations. He was a true friend and was loved and is missed not only by family.
