Guido H. Inguanzo

Guido H. Inguanzo, 86, of Miami Lakes, Florida, passed away on December 3, 2018. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018, 12:30 p.m., at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 15801 Ludlam Road, Miami Lakes, Florida. Inguanzo was born in Viñales, Pinar Del Río, Cuba, on May 23, 1932. He was a pioneer and leader in the field of telecommunications in his homeland. In 1962, he fled the tyranny of Cuba's totalitarian government for freedom in the United States and became a proud naturalized citizen in 1977. He was a long-time fixture in the Downtown Miami offices of TRT Telecommunications and retired from the company in the late 1980s with over 20 years of service. He then had a second career as a public servant working for the City of Hialeah for over ten years. He was an artist, an avid reader of poetry and enjoyed the theatre. As a senior citizen, he became an actor appearing in several television commercials and motion pictures including 2001's Ali. In recent years, he was an active member of the Town of Miami Lakes' Elderly Affairs Committee and was a founder and organizer of the town's annual Domino Tournament. Inguanzo wed Pilar Guisado in 1965; they were married for 53 years. Inguanzo was preceded in death by his parents, Heriberto and Gloria Inguanzo. He was the father of Pinecrest's Village Clerk, Guido H. Inguanzo, Jr. (Monica), and Bal Harbour's Assistant Village Manager, Ramiro J. Inguanzo (Gina). He is survived by his wife, his sons and daughters-in-law, his daughters Miriam and Alina, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his sister Miriam.
