Ira Geller Obituary
January 29, 1942 - April 15, 2024
South Miami, Florida - Ira Allan Geller died peacefully on April 15, 2024 surrounded by family in Miami, FL. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lourdes Pita Geller of South Miami, his children Lance (Heidy) Geller of Coconut Grove, Lisa (James) Boloix of Palmetto Bay, Dr. Lee (Dr. Melissa Epstein) Geller of Pinecrest, and Jon (Anita) Geller of Roswell, GA. Ira is also survived by his nine grandchildren: Olivia and Julia Geller, Ryan and Jake Schwartz, Alexa, Elle and Spencer Geller, and Marco and Enzo Geller. Ira was a very proud and highly decorated Vietnam War veteran including three Purple Hearts and he remained active in Vietnam Veterans organizations throughout his life. A memorial service and interment will be private for immediate family. Those wishing to honor Ira may do so by making a donation in his name to Wounded Warrior Project for Veterans by visiting woundedwarriorproject.org.

Ira was a very dear and close friend who I will miss! A great Greek Poet once said and I find very true in times like these, " One must wait till the evening to see how splendid the day has been ' I know for my friend Ira it was a splendid day indeed !! God´s speed brother

I am so very saddened to hear of his passing. Ira Geller was the sweetest man I have ever met. He was kind to everyone. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. Rest in peace, good man.

I was very sad to learn of Ira's passing. We first met at scout dog training camp at Fort Benning, Georgia. We served as combat veterans during the Vietnam War, and stayed in touch for over 50 years. He meant a lot to me both as a friend and a fellow soldier. May his memory be eternal.
