James S. Wiener M.D.

WIENER, M.D. JAMES S. of Delray Beach Florida passed away at the age of 86 on November 23. He is survived by his loving wife Bernice, daughter Nancy (Judy Tax), son Dan (Jill Cowan) and grandchildren Ben (Anna) and Kate. He was born in Worcester MA, attended Clark University and Tufts University School of Medicine. He trained in Psychiatry at Tufts Medical Center and practiced in Boston holding academic appointments at Tufts and Harvard Medical Schools. Jack and Bernice met at Classical High School and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past May. They lived many years in Newton MA and moved to Hollywood FL in 1979. Jack continued to practice Psychiatry and retired in 1999. Although Jack contracted polio at age 3 he never let it define him. He was a caring physician, avid swimmer, sun-worshipper, ice cream connoisseur, bridge player and world traveler. No one appreciated Bernice's apple pie more than Jack. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grand-children. He will be remembered for his indomitable spirit, gentle manner, sense of humor and warm contagious smile.
