Jim was great boss who put up with a lot of crazy county issues, some of which I may have caused. Never got upset. Always wanted the summer camp kids where having a good time. And love to talk about birds.

I always admired Jim's "low-key" knowledge of birding, while learning and enjoying his unique interpretation of our observations during nature walks. Jim vigorously supported the environmental educational efforts of his professional colleagues. Jim contributed in a variety of positive ways to our community. Thanks, Jim!

My deepest heartfelt sympathy to my sister Candy and my niece and nephews at this time of their great loss. I loved asking him about all the different birds that come to my yard, he was so knowledgeable. He could tell me what kind of bird it was just by my verbal descriptions. He will be dearly missed. Love from Mary Ellen and Pete.
