Jody Sherman

Sherman, Jody 47, passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada, Monday, January 29, 2013. He was the loving husband to Kerri Sherman, son of Howard and Ellen Sherman, and brother to Jeremy Sherman, and uncle to Ethan and Tyler. Sherman, who grew up in Miami, Florida, joined the tech world in the Silicon Valley in the late 1980s after serving in the US Navy. He later moved to the Los Angeles area where he was involved in over a dozen tech companies and start-ups becoming a leading face of the "Silicon Beach" scene and co-foundedthe e-commerce site Ecomom. Sherman became well known and loved in both his personal and professional life over the years for many things: his sharp mind, vibrant humor, the breadth and depth of his travels and experiences along with the great stories that resulted from them, willingness to share his knowledge about business and life with others, and of course his love of surfing. Sherman wanted to be remembered for helping others. Stating "it feels good whenever I know that my advice or my time spent with someone was of benefit. I don't know that you have to impact huge numbers of people at once. Personally, if I can be of real use to even one person at a time, I feel like I've been lucky enough in my life that I'm obligated to pay that forward." Sherman did make a huge impact in many of our lives and for that he willcertainly be missed.
