MCCOY, JOHN FRANKLIN 9/30/1921 5/21/2018 J. Frank McCoy (Frank), 96 of Miami Shores passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018. Frank was born in Charlottesville, VA, the son of Charles and Candace McCoy in 1921. Frank was raised in New Hill, North Carolina. As part of the Greatest Generation, he served in WWII in the 9th Army HQ as the map custodian for General William Simpson. For over 60 years Frank was a road contractor and heavy equipment vender in South Florida before retiring from Pan American Construction Company in 2002. He started attending Miami Shores Presbyterian Church in 1956 and later served as a Deacon, Elder and Trustee. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Jane in 2001. He is survived by his brother, Paul (Barbara) of New Hill, NC, son Dr. Jim McCoy (Bette) of Marco Island, FL; daughter Nancy Pullen (Dr. Fred) of Wellington, FL; daughter Dr. Cindy McCoy of Miami Shores, FL; 6 grand-children and 8 great grandchildren. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at 2pm Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Miami Shores Presbyterian Church, 602 NE 96th St. Miami Shores, FL 33138.
