We knew Jose thru graduate school at WVU, then internship at Camarillo State Hospital. He was then. And apparently continued to be,a jovial soul, interested in ABA and music. Happy to see that he established a loving family and continued his life is a successful way. Our condolences to his family. We continue to remember him as a sweet man, who never learned to drive in snow.

Jose was such a character, so passionate, knowledgeable, and just an all-around cool human being. He gave me the best career advice over dinner, which I followed, and it changed my professional & personal life by opening up so many doors/opportunities to advance my career in behavior analysis. Jose was also my go-to guy when I had a question re: behavior. He was always just a text away; I always appreciated that. What a tremendous loss. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have known Jose. I can hear his laugh now...

As a student of Dr. Martinez I feel extremely fortunate to be able take his coursework. He clearly cared so much about others which inspires me as a future behavior analyst. I was extremely saddened to hear of his passing. Sending prayers for peace and strength to his loved ones.
