Joshua Sirkin Obituary
March 16, 1939 - August 1, 2024
Miami, Florida - Joshua Allen Sirkin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at the Belmont Senior Living surrounded by family on August 1, 2024. Born on March 16, 1939, in Miami Beach, Joshua was a proud graduate of Miami Beach High School, class of 1957, where he excelled as a track athlete and drum major. He continued his education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, again participating in track and as drum major. He earned his law degree from Stetson Law School and became a member of the Florida Bar in 1963.
Joshua practiced real estate and business law at Harris & Sirkin and later Sirkin & McClymonds until his retirement in 1984. An avid golfer and award-winning orchid grower, Joshua also had a passion for dancing. He cherished the mountains of North Carolina and sponsored annual family trips, creating lasting memories for his loved ones.
Joshua married his college sweetheart and the love of his life, Carolyn Durner Sirkin in 1961and they shared sixty-two wonderful years of marriage.
Joshua was the biggest fan for his six grandchildren, Lauren Fetter, Greg Fetter, Tyler Heckaman, Hannah Sirkin Spade (Bailey), Ryan Heckaman and Sarah Sirkin who treasured their grandfather dearly. He was a dedicated father to Caren Fetter (Steve), Scott Sirkin (Marcy) and Jill Heckaman (Blain). Known for his genuine interest in others, sense of humor, magic tricks and kind heart, Joshua had a unique way of making everyone feel special.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Joshua was an original season ticket holder for the Dolphins and a devoted fan of his alma mater's sports teams, the Miami Heat, Miami Marlins and the Dolphins.
Joshua's love for life and for sharing it with his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, August 4, at Temple Judea, followed by burial at Mt. Nebo (Miami) and followed by a shiva at the Belmont Senior Living in Coral Gables.

Carolyn, I was shocked to learn today of Josh´s passing. He was one of my favorite people in The Timbers. He always looked like he was up to something, and he probably was! I watched the video of the funeral, and it was very moving. Those who spoke, said it all. What an amazing guy! Heartfelt sympathies to you and all of your family. I loved Josh. He was warm, wonderful, joyful. We went horseback riding in the 50s. He treated me to ice cream in Asheville in the 2000s. From high school to my writing him an unanswered email last week, I thought of Josh often. And I will continue to do so. He is missed, but never forgotten. Bruce Rogow
