Lamonte Anderson was the most Amazing person & college professor that I have ever met! He was Kind and sincerely cared about his students. I only took 1 class at what used to be called Broward Community College. Now Broward College. It was an Art class and I truly enjoyed it. Lamonte made it a Pleasure to come to class. One day in class I said to him: "I´m going to be (my artwork) in the Metropolitan Museum of Art ". And he said: "As a visitor ". Lamonte, if you can see me , your student, Esther Sharon Bejar, from heaven please wait until I get there! I promise, Lamonte Anderson, I will make you proud! You made it a Pleasure to come to school!
See ya at the Met!

With lots of love and thanks
I will miss you

Your Grateful Student,

Esther Sharon Bejar

Monty was a maverick and free spirit who forged his own path through art, travel and teaching. More importantly, he was a true friend who loved his family dearly. He taught so many things to so many people, may he rest in peace.

LaMonte, I will always miss you. I still can hear your voice, your laughter, your blue eyes seeing and understanding so much. I am a better person for knowing you, and honored to have been called your friend. Your art, your cats, your kindness and sense of humor - you were unique. I love you, my dear friend, goodbye, rest well, your art lives on not only with your creations but with all your students, your friends and family, that way, you, too, will live forever.

We miss LaMonte so much. We had so many good times together that it is hard to believe we won't be seeing him again. He was such a kind, caring person, who really introduced us to travel and many other good things - we will continue to remember the good times and toast him when we are on our travels. Our hearts go out to all the family. One bright spot of the last year has been getting to know Mary Jane and Bill.

LaMonte was a friend of mine ever since I was fortunate enough to have been in several of his classes at BCC. Not only did he encourage and inspire me to do my best work, he instilled in me a sense of exactly what great design is all about. His dry sense of humor complemented the brilliance of his incredible talent. Thanks LaMonte, for being so instrumental in my career as well as my life.
