I remember with great fondness meeting and ministering with Larry at Epworth. I was serving Palm Springs UMC at the time and would cover some services for Larry at times. Larry's enthusiasm, great love of God and serving others was always an inspiration to me. I was greatly blessed at the clergy luncheons he would organize for those serving in the area. His friendship and mentoring (as I had recently come back from serving overseas for 25 years) was a gift. The American culture was very strange to me after being gone for so long. Often, I would attend his morning devotional services as Epworth was not far from the church I served and his messages were spiritual food that blessed the residents and me, too!
For Opal and all the family, may our God of comfort be with you all. May God's peace beyond understanding fill you with wonderful memories of your beloved Larry.
Respectfully,
Rev. (retired) Deborah Galtere
