Aventura, Florida - Beloved husband to Eileen, dedicated father to Larry, David & Randi, Andy & Tracy, Steven & Melanie. Devoted grandfather to nine grandchildren Adam, Michael (Luciana), Jamie (Jason), Ryan (Corey), Lauren (Jon), Tara (Michael), Brandon, Logan and Emilie. Playful great-grandfather to nine great-grandchildren Carlie, Dylan, Ethan, Sloane, Jacob Z, Jacob M, Madison, Owen, Max, and Noah. As well as, many family and friends. Mel was born in Queens New York. He joined his father Meyer in the home building industry. After making a name for himself in New York, the family moved to South Florida in 1961. He continued in the home building/real-estate business where his sons followed. His real-estate legacy continues today, as his sons and grandson Ryan (4th generation home builder) keep the family building tradition alive with the guidance and teaching instilled upon them by Mel. Mel along with his wife Eileen lived a life full of love, humility, honesty, and respect for all.

My condolences to the family. I knew Mel and Elaine from Jamaica, Queens where we grew up, and then met again years later in North Miami Beach. Later, I met Ilene and some of the kids when they came to Florida.
Mel was a good guy and has left an amazing legacy with enough children to populate, not one, but many baseball fields.
