Michael Hirshon Obituary

Michael Hirshon, 78, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida passed away on August 21, 2025.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Michael grew up with a love of warmth and the ocean, which eventually drew him to Miami, where he attended the University of Miami. It was there that he built a life surrounded by sunshine and lasting friendships. After many years in Miami, he relocated to Ft. Lauderdale 3 years ago. Michael married the love of his life, Denise Bender, and they celebrated their 39th anniversary in July. A devoted husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, Michael's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife Denise, his son Corey Hirshon, his daughter Stacey Hirshon, her partner Joshua Stasilli, his brother Ronald Hirshon, and many nephews and nieces. Known for his kindness and warmth, Michael made friends everywhere he went. He cherished his many lifelong friendships and remained in close touch with those he held dear throughout his life. A memorial service will be held at noon on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Levitt-Weinstein Chapel, Beth David Memorial Gardens, 3201 NW 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33024. Michael and I became life long Friends when we were roommates at the University of Miami We had a 2 BR Apt on Douglas Rd with ` Lucy in The Sky ` Posters and a ` Black Light´
Lots of parties , listening to Blood, Sweat and Tears and both of our favorites Three Dog Night and ` One is a Lonely Number ` Michael would do the cooking and I´d do the cleaning After College I moved out to Los Angeles but didn´t miss Denise and Michael´s Wedding in Miami
They Honeymooned in Jamaica and I was going there too so we were able to continue the Celebration in Negril. Even in the early 70´s I´d fly in to see Michael when He was living in Coconut Grove and we always had a ` Blast ` I was shocked when Denise called me I had been speaking to Michael quite a lot lately Michael always called me T- Bird for the `65 Convertible I had on Douglas Rd and to me He was always ` Hirshon ` or ` Mikey´ I´m going to Dearly miss our conversations
and You my Good Friend

In Memory of Michael
I was heartbroken to hear of Michael's passing.
Baruch Dayan Ha'emet - Blessed is the True Judge.
Michael was such a special part of my life.
Our friendship spanned decades-from our high school years to our days together in Miami Beach, and through the time we spent working side by side as busboys and waiters in the Catskills. Those were some of the best times of my youth-filled with laughter, long nights, and stories I'll never forget. Michael helped shape those memories. He brought a sense of fun and connection that made everything better.
I spent countless nights sleeping over at his house. We watched football together, shared conversations late into the night, and built the kind of bond that never really fades, no matter how much time passes. To know Michael was to know loyalty, humor, and heart. His friendship was a gift. I know I'm not the only one who will miss him dearly.
May his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.

Michael and I grew up together as children in Brooklyn New York and lived across the street from one another. We went through elementary school, middle school and high school together. We shared so many childhood experiences and memories and eventually we both left to go to college n Miami Florida where we maintained our close friendship and lived together as roommates and friends.

The love and admiration we had as friends for one another and the memories we made as we grew older kindled our friendship despite that after college he stayed in Florida and I moved to Texas.

I will always keep a place for Michael in my heart and will miss him and his idiosyncrasies, he was one of a kind, in such a good way and our friendship was too. Love you Michael and I will miss you but the memories in my mind will never fade.

Only Michael and me will understand what I have to say when I say to him, "I will miss you Chino."
Love You,
Joey

Michael was my dear uncle, who I knew my entire life. He was my fathers youngest brother. My dad always called him bondit. I have fond memories of visiting him in Brooklyn when I was young. He lived with his Mon. After he moved to Florida for school and setteling there I have fond memories of visiting Michael many times over the years, and he will always have a warm spot in my heart. God Bless Michael on his journey to Heaven to be reunited with family and friends past. Michael until I see you again I love you always. The fond memories will never be forgotten
