I think about Michelle every time I walk past the Director´s Guild here in NY. She was incredibly kind and funny and wonderfully encouraging though we were generations apart. On one of her trips here she asked me if I would take here on the Statue of Liberty Cruise. She explained how much it meant to her as she hadn´t seen it since she sailed in as a young woman coming from Europe. It was extremely emotional for her. She was always so happy, so this was something I was so honored to do with her. I miss her terribly. Her voice, her wisdom, her "Annie, what´s up?" I know when she pops in my mind she visits. Rest my friend.

To the family members and close friends of Michelle, I offer my sincerest condolences.
I only learned of Michelle's passing today, Feb. 12, 2011, after seeing it in this months DGA (Director's Guild of America) magazine. Needless to say, I was shocked.
I have had the honor of serving on the AD/UPM council with Michelle a few years ago, and it was always a pleasure getting to know her, and speaking with her after council events about the state of our guild.
Michelle never hesitated to contribute, and to offer her polite but firm point of view, especially on the controversial issues that sometimes presented themselves at our council.
Michelle will be missed. I have informed the current council chair, so that we may reflect on her passing at our next council meeting.
My condolences.
Sincerely,
Louis J. Guerra

Dear Mom:
I wanted to write to you on your birthday. To say the least, this holiday season has not been the same without you. Going to the house and not seeing you there has been the most difficult thing for me.
Since your passing, everyone has re-affirmed that which I already knew--that you were an incredibly special woman who was considerate of everyone she met. I will always remember all the doctors visits we went to together and how you carried yourself. I can only hope that you instilled in me half of the courage and strength that you showed during that time period. You truly personified grace under fire.
I could keep writing but you already know how I have always felt about you. I simply wanted to send you this message on your birthday and let you know that I am thinking of you, that I love you and that I miss you.

My condolences to Michelle's family, i have known her since I lived in Miami Beach thru the Dutch Club (15yrs) who was then organized by Gerry and she also lived on the beach. I still remember the time when Michelle asked me if she could come and visit our soccer game on Saturday afternoon. I complelety forgot about it untill I saw her standing on the side line. At half time she came up to me and said : I need some good looking guys for a soccer commercial we are filming soon in Miami , she took a few names and sure enough we got called up and we had a great time filming a commercial of an austrian beer company in FIU. We had a great day and a lot of fun that day, she was a great lady and always a pleasure to talk to and to have known . Hans JJ Bos

Michelle taught me how to be a strong, successful, and loving woman. Her humor and smile were infectious and the strength she had was inspiring. She understood people and saw them sometimes better than they even saw themselves. She was a legend and will live on forever in my heart. Her last months were brightened when she was with my daughter, Ava, and seeing them together was the true definition of love. Thank you for everything you did for my family and me and for being an incredible role model and friend.

My memories of Michelle could fill a book l suppose. She was my neighbor, cherished friend, confidant, and "fairy godmother". After Hurricane Andrew blew us together, she became an honorary member of our family. If we had a party or gathering, Michelle was there! She watched my daughters grow from small girls to adult women. They seemed to fascinate her. My children loved her. A highlight of late for me was to bring my new baby granddaughter over to her to visit. That brought her great joy, it did me too. Michelle would play a tickle game with her in Dutch. It was adorable the way they looked at each other. I am sorry that she will not be able to watch her grow as she did my daughters. But, "It is what it is, honey".
One story...Years ago my family was planning a trip to Europe. Michelle found out that we had a few days in Amsterdam. When she heard that she said, I'll meet you there and show you my city". Did she ever...she was our own personal travel guide! She loved her Amsterdam and she taught us to love it too. While there we were crossing the street. I accidentally stepped out in front of a bicyclist which enraged him. He yelled loudly at me in Dutch, figuring that we were a group of dumb Americans I suppose. Well Michelle immediately had something to say to him...I don't know exactly what it was, but it sounded to me like "mudder fudder". Everyone standing around us laughed and the bicyclist was put in his place. You just don't mess with Michelle!
It seems so strange that you are not across the street any more. I miss you. Yes things will be different now and we will adjust, after all you told me things would be OK. Any future trips to Costco or Ikea, or any family events will not be the same without you. You will be there with me though...always in my heart. Good bye my cherished friend.

Michelle was such a constant light in the life of my family, and we will never stop telling our "Michelle stories". I remember once I was at home, and Michelle rang our doorbell, wearing just her bed sheet, asking for sugar as she could not find her beer. Since Michelle didn't drink I was really confused until we finally worked out what she was really asking for. She wanted our dog Sugar, so she could find her own dog Bear who had run away. My memories of Michelle will always bring a smile to my face. She touched my family and my mother's life especially and for that I will be forever grateful. We love you Michelle, and will remember you always.

Ah, dear Michelle, As fashion director for the Richard Stores I was so happy to be the one to book you for some of those early modeling gigs. Jennifer and Bruce, I'm sorry I never met you. Please remember the GOOD times and treasure the memory of a marvelous Mom. Michelle, you're truly missed. Walk with the angels, Darlin'.

Dear Jennifer and Bruce,
Our condolencies to you and your family. I remember on of the first times Michelle helped me after I just arrived in Miami from Holland. After dropping of my car at the dearlership for repairs I decided to walk back to the house. That was a huge mistake in the Miami summer climate. Completely overheated I called one of the only persons I knew at the time. She immediately told me not to worry, droped everything she was doing and stepped in her car and came to my rescue. That was also your Mom. Always ready to help other people. Being a close neighbor in Pinecrest we met reguarly and she adored our son Alex. Our last contact was a couple of weeks ago when she, sick as she was, asked for pictures of his kids.
She will be for ever in our memories.
