MORRIS BROAD Obituary

BROAD, MORRIS N., New York Law School mourns the passing of its esteemed friend and benefactor, Morris N. Broad, Chairman of the Shepard Broad Foundation. Morris continued the tremendous legacy of philanthropy established by his father, Shepard, founder of Broad & Cassel and a member of the Law School's class of 1927, who believed it was his duty to give back to the school which helped launch his career. Shepard, among the Law School's most illustrious graduates, created the Shepard Broad Scholarship, one of the first at the Law School, to help immigrant students pursuing their dreams of becoming a lawyer. Morris, along with his sister Ann, augmented that scholarship with gifts from the Foundation, and today it stands as one of the largest scholarships at New York Law School. Later, Morris and his family proudly funded the Shepard and Ruth K. Broad Student Center and Shepard Broad Coffee Bar, and provided ongoing support for an engaged student community. We extend our deepest condolences to Morris' wife, Anita; his son, Anthony; his grandchildren, Emma and Sara; his sister, Ann Bussel; his nieces and nephews, John, Danny, Karen and Deborah; and the entire Broad family. Arthur N. Abbey, Chairman Anthony W. Crowell, Dean and President

We had the privilege to know him and his parents in the seventies here in Germany.
Whenever we met together in Germany or Miami it was based by warmness.

I'm very sorry to read now about his death.
God bless You all.
