Mortimer Feldman Obituary

FELDMAN, MORTIMER, 85, died peacefully, September 21, 2006, in Miami, Florida, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New York, he lived in Miami since the 1940s. He was the most handsome man and voted the best dancer in his graduating class. After attending M.I.T. he served his country during the Second World War in the Army Air Corps stationed in Clewiston, Florida. He then married Gloria Kotler and is lovingly remembered as a wonderful and caring husband. He was a contractor, and land developer, active in shaping Miami, Miami Beach and Coral Gables into the great cities they are today. His most notable works include the renovation of the Biltmore Hotel, Venetian Pool, and The Freedom Tower. He was predeceased by his parents, Miami Beach developers, Irving and Fanny Feldman, his brother Arthur Feldman and sister Edith Myerson Weill. His legacy spreads far and wide and can be seen in his loving family. Daughters, Carol Fleisher (Bruce), Nancy Feldman, Sally Tappert (Fred), and their children Andrew Tappert, Peter Tappert, Amy Fleisher, Ian Fleisher (Andrea), and new great grandson Peter Matthew Fleisher. His wonderful spirit lives on through his family and all of the people that were fortunate enough to know him. With heartfelt thanks to our friends Evelyn Chutkan and Rita Pierre. Dear Gloria and family -- on behalf of my brothers & sisters (Karen, Jimmy, Tony & Patricia) we would like to express our sincerest condolences on the passing of Mr. Feldman. dear gloria, carole, nancy, sally and family....our thoughts and prayers are with all of you on the loss of mort...my sister nancy and i remember fondly lots of great times way back when in bay heights with our dear aunt and uncle esther and frank solomon, and cousin linda,( may they all rest in peace), and richie and carol..we hope that mort's wonderful life fills you with continued beautiful and loving memories.....love, susan
